RIP Chinook dog. April 5th, 2025. Today marks the day of crossing the rainbow bridge for my beloved best friend in the world. I rescued Chinook from the shelter when he was around 9 months old. It has been a great almost 13 years. Chinook had the best life a dog could have had. From running on the beaches of Oregon, hiking and camping in the woods, to living in beautiful Belt, Montana where he lived his last days as an old boy. Chinook spent the prime of his life living on a ranch with free rein of the land outside of Junction City Oregon, with creeks to swim in, chickens to herd, and fields to go get into mischief with his partner in crime Otis, (Rolling in cow poop and getting sprayed by skunks) he even raised a kitten or two and even a rabbit. He loved everyone and everything. When he got a bit older, we moved to Belt. As he grew older his back and hips were starting to fail him leaving him in a lot of pain. Chinook was still sharp as a tack mentally (Those who knew him knew just how big of a dog he was). We made the difficult decision to take the pain away from him. Today he went to sleep for good. No more pain for the old boy. He will be missed dearly from all the awooowooos to the I love yous. Until we meet again my friend…CHEERS |
