I first saw a picture of Choco on Petfinder. He looked terrified. I called the rescue and spoke with the director who told me they thought they were going to have to euthanize him because he was snapping at everyone. Then one day he ran up and licked one of the workers on the hand. The director believed he would do better once he was out of the shelter and in a
home setting. The rescue group was amazing. When I discovered Choco was located in Texas, they offered to transport him to Boulder, CO. So, I took a road trip and picked him up in Colorado! That was September 2019. Choco was 9 years old when he was rescued. Four years were just not enough with him. He had a mind of his own and kept my other dog in line. He was handsome and dignified but also loving and sweet. He could be such a funny little guy. He was my lil darling, my handsome boy, my Choc-o- latte. I have owned dogs for more than 40 years and never bonded with a dog like I did with him. He was my dog soul mate. Choco passed away on Monday July 24, 2023, of lymphoma. He was 13 years old. I miss him so very much. He holds a very special place in my heart and will never be forgotten. You will be loved forever Choco.
