Charlie 2012-2025 Charlie was born in early 2012. She was found cold, shivering and scared in a concrete pipe on the South Side of Billings, Montana. After being rescued and checked out, she was immediately adopted by her most special human lifelong human, Colt. Charlie was named after Charlie the Ranch Dog character of Ree Drummond’s “Charlie the Ranch Dog” book series. She was an avid bunny chaser and hunter, often leading to unexpected Charlie Dog Adventures. Her hunting earned her nicknames like C-Dawg and Bunny Killer. Charlie made thousands of appearances in Snapchat and Facebook posts. She was a faithful companion and protector of “her boy” Colt. Charlie and Colt grew up together, going on all sorts of adventures together. Her human would say, “We are going on a Charlie Dog adventure.” Charlie was always the mama and boss dog. She raised several rescues and fosters and also protected and helped raise and care for many baby goats. Her daily routine included going out and patrolling to ensure her goats and family were safe. She loved her outfits, ear massages, mani/pedi days, car rides and anything involving peanut butter, but most importantly, her “boy.” She would wait patiently for him until he returned, worried that maybe someday he wouldn’t. She loved him unconditionally as he loved her. Her final hours were spent in his room, protecting and loving him. Charlie Dog crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in the early hours of January 29, 2025. She is survived by her basset friend Rose, Cow Dogs Justice & Scout, and the love of her life, “her boy” Colt. “The one best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of his master, and Charlie, you will never leave “your boy’s or ours” |
